The Dell Rapids Quarrier softball team finished the regular season with another big win on Tuesday, May 16th. The Quarriers defeated the Dakota Valley Panthers 17-3 to improve their record to 10-1 on the season.
Dakota Valley got a run in the top of the first, but the Quarriers tied the game with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning. The Panthers again took a slim lead with another run in the top of the second. Dell Rapids plated four runs in the second inning to go ahead 5-2. Dakota Valley cut the lead to 5-3 after another run in the top of the fourth, but Dell Rapids put the game away with 12 runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Claire Wynja had four hits, one a double, and four RBIs. Lexi Ingalls had a home run, double, and a single with an RBI. Jaycee Tebay had a home run and double with three RBIs. Rileigh Foster finished with two singles and an RBI. Katie Scherff had a home run and two RBIs. Kylee Fiddelke ended with a triple and an RBI. Liz Price had a single. Kylie Lebahn added an RBI. Katie Kvigne pitched four innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits and two walks.
