Dell Rapids PBR opened the 2025 South Dakota State B Amateur Baseball Tournament in Brandon with an 11-1 win over the Plankinton Bankers on Thursday, August 7th.
PBR stormed out of the gate with a five-run bottom of the first inning. They added another run in the bottom of the fourth for a 6-0 lead. Plankinton got a run in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to 6-1. PBR then ended the game on the 10-run rule in the bottom of the eighth with another five-run inning.
Riley Calhoon finished with three hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Chris Kropuenske also had three hits with two RBIs. Drew Sweeter added three singles. Weston Hansen had two hits. Zach Puetz had a single with two RBIs. Nate Nichols added a hit with an RBI. Riley Hoffman and Brayden Pankonen each had a hit, and Conner Spindler had an RBI.
Brett Mogen pitched seven innings had allowed an earned run on three hits with 10 strikeouts. Pankonen pitched one inning and allowed one walk.
