Dell Rapids plated a run in the top of the seventh to take a 5-4 road win over Lennox on Monday, March 31st.
Jackson Peppel get Dell Rapids on the board with two runs in the top of the first with a two-run double. Lennox cut the lead to 2-1 with a run in the bottom of the second. Dell Rapids pushed the lead to 4-1 in the top of the third after Lincoln LeBrun scored on a passed ball, and Talan Millage had an RBI single.
Lennox was able to work the game to a 4-4 tie over the next couple of innings. They got two runs in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run single. Lennox then tied the game, 4-4, in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single.
Cole Ruesink started the seventh inning with a walk, but was caught stealing for the first out. Tad Tjaden then drew a one-out walk. He was able to steal second to get into scoring position. Cooper Frost moved him over to third after a a ground out to the second baseman. Drake Eastman delivered the game-winning hit and scored Tjaden. Lennox got runners on first and second with one out, but Lincoln Fersdahl got a big strikeout and then a groundout to end the game.
Peppel had a double with two RBIs. Eastman and Millage both had a single and an RBI. Fersdahl also had a hit. Eastman pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed three earned runs on two hits and five walks with 10 strikeouts. Fersdahl threw 2 1/3 innings for the win allowing an earned run on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts.
