Dell Rapids High School Bowling Season Ends

The 2024-2025 Dell Rapids high school bowling season recently came to an end with the state tournament.  The boys JV tournament was held in Sioux Falls on Thursday, February 13th.  The girls and boys varsity state tournaments were held in Yankton. The girls tournament was on Thursday, February 20th, and the boys tournament was Friday, February 21st.

The Dell Rapids JV boys team had a great season this year.  They finished 12-1 overall giving them a runner-up award for the regular season.  Two JV teams from Dell Rapids competed in the boys JV state tournament.  The JV1 team took second place overall, and the JV2 team finished fourth place in the tournament.

The girls varsity team had a regular season record of 5-8.  They put together a strong showing at the state tournament.  In the qualifying round, the girls team earned a fifth seed in the brackets.  They won their first match against Sioux Falls Lincoln, but lost their next two matches to Brandon Valley and West Central by a combined 24 pins.  The girls team finished eighth in the bracketed tournament.

The Dell Rapids boys varsity team had an 8-5 regular season record, giving them a top five regular season finish.  The boys had a rough start to the state tournament, but rebounded to get an eighth seed for the bracket.  They won two matches in the tournament against Wests Central and Sioux Falls Christian, but lots to Tea and the eventual state champions, Yankton.  Dell Rapids finished eighth in the tournament
