The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys held Tri-Valley to just 13 second half points which helped the Quarriers to a 57-35 win on Thursday, February 6th.
Dell Rapids built a double-digit lead in the first quarter, but the Mustangs cut the lead to 19-14 by quarter’s end. The Quarriers maintained their lead in the second quarter and ended the first half with a 27-22 lead. The Dell Rapids defensed shut down the Mustangs in the second half. They held Tri-Valley to just five points in the third quarter while extended the lead to 44-27 going into the fourth quarter.
The Quarriers shot 41% (19-46) overall in the game, 30% (6-20) on three-point shots, and 65% (13-20) from the free-throw line. Tri-Valley shot 24% (13-54) overall, 30% (8-27) from three-point area, and 1-2 from the free-throw line.
Tad Tjaden finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocked shots. Jack Kloth added 14 points, eight rebounds, and seven blocked shots. Karson Paye had nine points, three rebounds, and three assists. Lincoln Anderson ended with seven points, four rebounds, and two assists.
