The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys had a big second half to help secure a 61-32 win over the Parker Pheasants on Monday, January 20th.
Dell Rapids led start to finish in the game. They started with a 6-0 run and kept that six-point lead, 17-11, at the end of the first quarter. The Quarriers extended the lead to double digits, 33-22, by halftime. The defense then locked down the Pheasants in the second half. Parker was only able to score three points in the third quarter, and Dell Rapids took a 50-25 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Quarriers shot 49% (24-49) overall in the game, 43% (9-21) from three-point area, and 4-6 from the free-throw line. Parker shot just 29% (12-42) from the field, 27% (3-11) on three-point shots, and 5-8 from the free-throw line.
Tad Tjaden had 14 points, five rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Karson Paye also had 14 points with three rebounds, eight assists, and three steals. Jack Kloth added 13 points, seven rebounds, six blocked shots, and two assists. Lincoln Fersdahl ended with nine points, three rebounds, and three steals. Jackson Peppel had five points and two rebounds.
