The Dell Rapids Quarrier track teams competed in the Terry Bong Relays in Canton on Thursday, April 25th. The relay teams had a good day. Both the girls and boys teams had three relay teams come home with first place.
Rorie Thoreson won the 1600m run with a time of 5:29.23. Elizabeth Krantz placed fourth in the triple jump. Clara Justice was fifth in the 100m hurdles. Vivica Kreul took fifth in the discus and fifth in the javelin. Makaylah O’Meara placed fifth in the high jump. Claire Wynja was sixth in the shot put. Keilah Kremer finished eighth in the high jump. The relay teams had a big day. The 4x200m relay team of Kylee Fiddelke, Alaina Wolff, Justice, and Thoreson took first place with a time of 1:50.61. The 4x400m relay team of Fiddelke, Wolff, Justice, and Wolff won with a time of 4:17.90. The 1600 sprint medley team of Wolff, Sophia Godwin, Justice, and Thoreson also won with a time of 4:28.51. The 4x800m relay team placed sixth.
Jackson Peppel placed second in the 800m run and seventh in the 400m dash. Mason Stubbe finished third in the 100m dash. Will Ronshaugen finished fourth in the triple jump. Carson Maeschen took fifth in the shot put. Ian Zellmer was sixth in the 3200m run. Ethan Kringen finished sixth in the shot put. Grady Lamer placed seventh in the 200m dash. Alex Heinemann finished eighth in the 1600m run. The boys relay teams also had a good day. The 4x100m relay team of Stubbe, Cole Ruesink, Nick Snyder, and Jack Henry placed first in :45.05. The 4x200m relay team of Lamer, Stubbe, Ruesink, and Henry won with a time of 1:32.66. The 1600 sprint medley relay team of Behr Peckenpaugh, Ronshaugen, Cooper Cuny, and Lamer also won with a time of 3:48.03. The 4x400m relay and 4x800m relay teams both placed fifth.
