Dell Rapids scored nine straight runs to earn a 9-5 win over Tri-Valley on Sunday, April 14th.
Tri-Valley got an early run in the bottom of the first inning. After a scoreless second inning, Dell Rapids got on the board in the third. Mason Stubbe and Sutton Williams both had two-run singles to give Dell Rapids a 4-1 lead. Carson Maeschen had an RBI bunt single in the top of fourth to increase the lead to 5-1.
Dell Rapids added four more runs in the top of the sixth inning. Tad Tjaden had an RBI single, Cole Ruesink scored on a passed ball, Stubbe had an RBI triple, and Stubbe later scored on an error to put Dell Rapids ahead 9-1. Tri-Valley put a little rally together late. They scored a run in the bottom of the sixth and then scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh on a couple of errors, but their rally was stopped there.
Stubbe had two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs. Williams had a single and two RBIs. Tjaden and Maeschen both had a single and an RBI. Drake Eastman, Will Zwach, and Ruesink all had one hit each. Lincoln Fersdahl pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits and five walks with five strikeouts. Konrad Richeal pitched the final 2/3 of an inning and allowed two runs, both unearned, on a hit and two walks with one strikeout.
