2024 Quarrier Softball Brings Experience to the Field

The Dell Rapids Quarrier softball team finished the 2023 season with a 13-2 record and a third place finish in the South Dakota Class A State Tournament.  This year’s team will be loaded with experience.

The Quarriers return nine seniors from last year’s team.  Three of those seniors – Claire Wynja, Lexi Ingalls, and Jaycee Tebay – have signed letters of intent to play softball at the collegiate level next year.  Along with that Dell Rapids has five All-State players returning – Wynja, Tebay, Kylie Lebahn, Kylee Fiddelke, and Katie Kvigne.

“Our returning starters are tremendous athletes and well-rounded young women who will provide great leadership and contribute lots of playing time for us on the field.  Three of our pitching staff members are returning after some competitive innings last season.  Several of our athletes have strong bats and are smart on the bases, which will help support our offense,” said head coach Theresa McMahon.

The senior-led group is a very competitive group, and the hope for this year’s team is to have a winning record and put themselves in a position to battle for a state championship McMahon also mentioned.
