The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys earned their second win over the Milbank Bulldogs in a week. The Quarriers faced Milbank in the Dak-12/NEC Clash in Madison on Saturday, January 29th. The second meeting was a closer game, but the Quarriers held off the Bulldogs for a 56-48 win.
Dell Rapids built a six-point lead, 16-10, by the end of the first quarter. Milbank closed the gap in the second quarter and trailed by just a point, 27-26, at halftime. After the Bulldogs tied the game 31-31 around the midway point of the third quarter, the Quarriers went on an 8-1 run for a 39-32 lead going into the fourth quarter. Dell Rapids outscored Milbank 17-16 in the final quarter for the win.
The Quarriers shot 43% (23-53) from the field overall, 2-7 from three-point area, and 57% (8-14) from the free-throw line. Milbank shot 31% (18-58) overall, 30% (7-23) on three-point attempts, and 50% (5-10) from the free-throw line.
Jack Henry had 18 points and eight rebounds. Rhett Kloth finished with 12 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Tad Tjaden added nine points, four rebounds, and three assists. Cole Ruesink, Drake Eastman, and Treyse Eastman all had five points each. Ruesink also had nine rebounds and two assists.
