The Dell Rapids Quarriers traveled to Milbank for a make-up game with the Bulldogs on Monday, January 22nd. Milbank had a big second half to help them in a 66-43 victory.
The first quarter was back and forth, and Milbank held a two-point lead, 16-14, at the end of the quarter. The Bulldogs added to their lead in the second quarter, but only by a point. Dell Rapids trailed 27-24 at halftime. The Quarriers scored the first four points of the third quarter and led 28-27 with 6:50 remaining. That’s when the Milbank offense got rolling. The Bulldogs finished the quarter on a 21-8 run for a 48-36 lead going into the fourth quarter. Milbank outscored Dell Rapids 18-7 in the final quarter.
The Quarriers shot 30% (15-50) overall in the game, 20% (4-20) from three-point area, and 50% (9-18) from the free-throw line. Milbank finished the game shooting 43% (21-49) overall, 40% (6-15) on three-point attempts, and 78% (18-23) from the free-throw line.
Jersi Schultz had 12 points and nine rebounds. Rorie Thoreson finished with 11 points. Josie Price added 10 points and two rebounds. Clara Justice had four points, three rebounds, and four assists. Elly Olson had six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
