Quarrier Football Makes Statement in Homecoming Win

The Dell Rapids Quarrier football team may have made a statement on Friday, September 15th.  The Quarriers exploded to a 48-8 halftime lead over the Canton C-Hawks on their way to a 48-30 homecoming win.

Cole Ruesink scored the first two touchdowns of the first quarter.  His first score was on a five-yard run.  The second touchdown was a 28-yard run.  Mason Stubbe added a five-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.  Stubbe also converted two-point conversions in the quarter for a 22-0 lead.

Stubbe added a 44-yard run in the second quarter for a 28-0 lead.  Canton scored on a four-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter and then made the two-point conversion for a 28-8 score.  Dell Rapids then put 20 more points on the board.  Stubbe scored his third rushing touchdown on an 11-yard run.  Ruesink had a 37-yard touchdown reception from Jack Henry, and then Stubbe had a 47-yard touchdown pass from Henry before the half.  Cooper Frost made two extra points, and the Quarrier led 48-8 at halftime.

Canton put a few points on the board in the third quarter, but the game was clearly in hand for the Quarriers.  The C-Hawks had an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a two-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.  Their final score was a four-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Dell Rapids had 388 yards of offense, 238 rushing yards and 150 passing yards.  Canton finished with 217 yards of offense, 160 rushing yards and 57 passing yards.  The Quarriers had 17 first downs, and Canton had 13 first downs.

Stubbe had nine carries for 94 yards and three touchdowns.  Ruesink had four carries for 36 yards and two touchdowns.  Henry had four carries for 47 yards.  Henry was also 5-5 passing for 150 yards and two touchdowns.  Stubbe had three receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown.  Ruesink had two catches for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Aiden Geraets had six tackles including a sack.  Ryan Stubbe also had six tackles.  Ruesink finished with five tackles.  Lucas Keener finished with four tackles.
