Both the Dell Rapids Mudcats and Dell Rapids PBR finished their regular season on Sunday, July 16th. The two teams played one another in a make-up game, and then played their regularly scheduled games.
Mudcats 18, PBR 0
The Mudcats defeated PBR 18-0 in three innings. PBR was held to just one hit in the game, a single by Connor Spindler. Trevor Freudenthal, Landon Ruesink, and Grant Olson all had two hits each for the Mudcats. Ty Hoglund, Chat Hunt, Mark Abrahamson, Carter Gullickson, Dalton Allen, and Logan Stone all had one hit each. Kris Regas took the win on the mound for the Mudcats. Grant Sweeter took the loss for PBR.
PBR 7, Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks 0
PBR stayed in Dell Rapids and hosted the Gamecocks for their second game. Reece Arbogast, Trey Randel, and Brett Mogen all combined to pitch the shutout for PBR.
Lennox 6, Mudcats 4
The Mudcats traveled to Lennox for their second game. Lennox held a 5-1 lead after three innings and held on for the win. Hoglund had two hits in the game, including a home run. Gullickson had a double in the game. Abrahamson took the loss on the mound.
PBR will be the #6 seed in the District 4B tournament and will play #3 Flandreau on Saturday, July 22nd in Flandreau. The Mudcats are the #1 seed and dwill play the winner of Madison and Colman on Saturday.
