The Renner Monarchs defeated the Dell Rapid Mudcats 11-2 in Dell Rapids on Tuesday, June 13th in a non-league game.
Renner took the lead with a run right away in the top of the first inning. Dell Rapids tied the game in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by Landon Ruesink. The Monarchs took the lead for good in the top of the third inning with four more runs. They added another run in the fourth, two in the fifth, and three in the ninth. The Mudcats second run came in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI ground ball by Chad Hunt.
Dell Rapids only had three hits in the game. Ruesink, Kris Regas, and Dalton Allen each had a single. Ruesink took the loos on the mound giving up eight runs on seven hits in four innings. Dusty Haffeman pitched well in relief, going four scoreless innings on one hit and two strikeouts. Grant Olson finished the last inning, giving up three runs and a home run
