The Dell Rapids (1-13) Quarrier offense had a hard time getting going in Vermillion on Thursday, January 26th. The Tanagers defeated the Quarriers 51-22.
Dell Rapids was held to single digit scoring in each of the four quarters. Vermillion led 16-1 at the end of the first quarter, 29-7 at halftime, and 49-14 at the end of the third quarter.
The Quarriers shot 18% (6-34) overall, 1-12 on three-point attempts, but 9-11 from the free-throw line. Vermillion shot 35% (19-55) from the field, 30% (7-23) from three-point area, and 6-9 from the free-throw line.
Elly Olson had seven points to lead the Quarriers in scoring. Claire Wynja had six points and six rebounds. Clara Justice finished with five points, four rebounds, and two steals. Liz Price added four points and four rebounds.
JV Results – Coach Huska Update
A cold shooting night along with several key turnovers were too much for the Quarriers JV team to overcome as they were beaten by the Tanager JV team, 15-29, Thursday night in Vermillion. Peyton Hohn had 10 rebounds and five blocked shots. Alaina Wolff added five points. Mya DeStigter had four points and three rebounds. Keilah Kremer added two points and four rebounds. Reagan VanZee had two points and three rebounds. Taylor Schmidt finished with two points, and Shelby Welbig had five rebounds.
