The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys earned another big win on the season on Tuesday, January 24th. Dell Rapids cruised to an 81-36 home win over the Elkton-Lake Benton Elks.
As has happened quite a few times for Dell Rapids this year, the Quarriers got out to a big lead in the first quarter. Dell Rapids led 27-5 at the first quarter break and never looked back. The Quarriers led 44-19 at halftime and then extended the lead to 65-33 by the end of the third quarter. They then outscored the Elks 16-3 in the final quarter.
Dell Rapids shot 58% (30-52) in the game, 55% (12-22) on three-point shots, and 9-11 from the free-throw line. The Elks, meanwhile, shot 30% (14-47) overall, 27% (6-22) from three-point area, and just 2-5 from the free-throw line. Dell Rapids had 18 team assists and forced 21 Elk turnovers in the game.
Three players finished in double figures. Brayden Pankonen had 21 points, three rebounds, eight assists, and six steals. Jack Henry ended with 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals. Rhett Kloth added 10 points, two rebounds, and three steals. Will Jaton had nine points, Camden Justice had seven, and Luke Randall finished with six points.
