The Dell Rapids Quarriers played almost even with the Sioux Valley Cossacks for three quarters on Friday, January 20th. The Cossacks second quarter helped them to a 78-58 win over the Quarriers.
Sioux Valley led 16-11 at the end of the first quarter, but then outscored Dell Rapids by 10 in the second quarter. The Cossacks led 44-29 by halftime. The lead grew to 67-47 by the end of the third quarter. Both teams scored 11 points in the final quarter.
Dell Rapids shot 40% (22-55) overall in the game, 27% (4-15) from three-point area, and 71% (10-14) from the free-throw line. The Cossacks were 58% (26-45) shooting, 54% (14-26) on three-point attempts, and 86% (12-14) from the free-throw line.
Claire Wynja had 15 points and five bounds. Liz Price had 12 points and five rebounds. Jenna Miller finished with nine points, four rebounds, and three assists. Kerrigan Kindopp added eight points.
JV Results – Coach Huska Update
Sioux Valley’s stingy defense and uptempo pace were too much for the Quarriers JV as they fell to the Cossacks by a score of 10-33. Shelby Welbig had six points and three rebounds. Keilah Kremer had two points and two rebounds. Taylor Schmidt added two points, and Peyton Hohn had five rebounds.
