Quarriers Go Cold in Second Half

Dell Rapids hung with West Central for two quarters of play, but then went cold in the second half.  The West Central Trojans defeated the Dell Rapids Quarriers 58-27 on Tuesday, January 17th.

Dell Rapids got off to a rough start falling behind 15-3 by the end of the first quarter.  The offense got going in the second quarter and kept pace with the Trojans.  Dell Rapids trailed by the same 12 points, 31-19, at halftime.  But then the shooting went cold in the second half.  The Quarriers made just two field goals and four free throws the entire second half.

Dell Rapids shot 18% (10-55) overall, 1-16 from three-point area, and 43% (6-14) from the free-throw line.  West Central shot 41% (21-51) from the field, 37% (10-27) on three-point attempts, and 55% (6-11) from the free-throw line.

Claire Wynja had nine points and four rebounds.  Liz Price finished with seven points and 11 rebounds.  Jenna Miller added five points, eight rebounds, and three steals.  Kerrigan Kindopp ended with three points, two rebounds, and two steals.  Shelby Welbig also had three points, six rebounds, and two assists.

JV Results – Coach Huska Update

The Quarriers JV team lost to a hot shooting West Central team Tuesday night by a score of 17 – 48.  May DeStigter finished with six points.  Welbig had four points and four rebounds.  Peyton Hohn ended with three points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Adah Cavigielli had three points, and Keilah Kremer finished with a point and two rebounds.
