Quarrier Girls Hang with Huskies, but Fall Just Short

The Dell Rapids Quarriers went toe-to-toe with the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies on Saturday, January 21st, but fell just short by a score of 45-37.

Dell Rapids trailed by three points at the end of the first quarter, 10-7.  Elk Point-Jefferson pushed the lead to 22-15 at halftime.  The Huskies then grabbed a double-digit lead in the third quarter and led 37-23 heading into the fourth quarter.  Dell Rapids pulled with with six points, 43-37, with 2:00 to go in the game, but were unable to get closer.

Liz Price had 11 points and 16 rebounds in the game.  Kerrigan Kindopp also had 11 points along with two steals.  Elly Olson finished with eight points.  Claire Wynja added four points, four rebounds, and two steals.

JV Results – Coach Huska Update
The Quarrier JV team found their rhythm offensively against a good Elk Point-Jefferson JV squad.  Steady pressure from the Huskies, however, turned out to be the difference as the young Quarriers fell 22-37.  Peyton Hohn had 11 points, five rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Kassy Stykel had six points.  Mya DeStigter finished with three points, three rebounds, and two steals.  Reagan Van Zee added two points.
