Dell Rapids Football Notches Another Win

The Dell Rapids built a large first half lead on their way to a 35-20 win at home over the Chamberlain Cubs on Friday, October 7th.

Mason Stubbe put the Quarriers on the board in the first quarter with an eight-yard run.  He added a 32-yard touchdown run later in the quarter.  One of two made extra points gave Dell Rapids a 13-0 lead after the first quarter.

Brayden Pankonen found the end zone in the second quarter on a 39-yard run.  Stubbe made the two-point conversion for a 21-0 lead.  Sutton Williams also got into the end zone in the second quarter on a one-yard run.  Stubbe scored his third touchdown of the game on a 23-yard run.  Pankonen scored the two-point conversion.  Dell Rapids led 35-0 at halftime.

Chamberlain got one touchdown in the third quarter on a nine-yard run.  The Cubs added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter on runs of 31 yards and one yard.

Dell Rapids finished with 230 yards of offense, 222 rushing yards and eight passing yards.  The Cubs had 201 yards of offense, 59 rushing yards and 142 passing yards.

Cooper Frost was 1-3 passing for eight yards.  Pankonen had the only catch for Dell Rapids.  Stubbe had eight carries for 102 yards and three touchdowns.  Pankonen had six carries for 62 yards and a touchdown.  Williams finished with eight carries for 40 yards and a touchdown.  Chase Jones had five carries for 16 yards.

Aiden Geraets led the team with four total tackles.  Will Jaton finished with three tackles.  Stubbe, Grady Lamer, and Ian Zellmer all had 2.5 tackles. Treyse Eastman and Ethan Ten Eyck both had two tackles.  Jaton also had a fumble recovery.
