The West Central legion baseball team picked up a 7-2 road win against Salem on Tuesday, July 21st.
Hayes Cain got the scoring started in the top of the first with a two-run home run. Salem cut the lead to 2-1 with a run in the bottom of the second. Cooper Ball had an RBI in the top of the third followed by a three-run home run by Taylon Sichmeller to put West Central ahead 6-1. Salem scored their final run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Cain added an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh.
Ball had two hits and an RBI. Cain and Sichmeller both had a home run and three RBIs each. Hayden Whiting and Jett Whiting both had a single. Kane Grace pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits and five walks with 10 strikeouts. Max Lewin pitched 1 1/3 innings and struck out two batters.
