Season Ends for West Central 14U in Region 4A Tournament

The West Central 14U baseball team fell short in the Region 4A tournament in Colton on Tuesday, July 16th.  They won their elimination game against Sioux Falls Chargers Blue, but lost to Tri-Valley in the championship game.

West Central 13, Sioux Falls Chargers Blue 3

In an elimination game, West Central took the lead early a cruised to a win to qualify for the championship game.  They scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning.  Sioux Falls tied the game with three runs in the top of the second, but West Central scored the next 10 runs.  They took the lead again, 6-3, with three runs in the bottom of the second.  They added a run in the bottom of the fourth and then had a six-run fifth inning to end the game on the 10-run rule.

Braylon R finished with two hits and two RBIs.  Noah E and Dean A both had a single and two RBIs each.  Eli K and Taylan S had a single and RBI each.  Kane G added two RBIs.  Noah E pitched all five innings and allowed three runs, just one earned, on a hit and four walks with three strikeouts.

Tri-Valley 15, West Central 5

In the championship game, Tri-Valley exploded for 13 runs in the bottom of the first inning on their way to claiming the title.  West Central got three runs in the top of the third and two more in the top of fourth for a 13-5 score.  Tri-Valley got two more runs in the bottom of the fourth.  The game ended on the 10-run rule in the fifth inning.

Taylan S had a double and an RBI.  Cooper B finished with a hit, and Eli K had an RBI.
