West Central 14U Splits Two Region 4A Games

The West Central 14U baseball team played two games at the Region 4A tournament in Colton on Monday, July 15th.  They won their first game, but lost the second game of the day.

West Central 13, SF Chargers Blue 3

West Central scored 10 straight runs to take the opening round win over the Chargers.  Two runs were scored in the bottom of the first to give West Central a 2-0 lead.  Sioux Falls tied the game with two runs in the top of the second.  West Central took the lead again, 3-2, with a run in the bottom of the second.  The Chargers tied the game one last time, 3-3, in the top of the third.  West Central then put the game away with a seven-run bottom of the third.  They scored three more in the bottom of the fourth.

Noah E had two hits and two RBIs.  Cooper B also had two hits and an RBI.  Chase S had a home run and three RBIs.  Taylan S had a single with three RBIs.  Aiden L added a double and an RBI.  Kane G pitched five innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on two hits and four walks with five strikeouts.

Tri-Valley 15, West Central 3

Tri-Valley scored the first seven runs to help them to a 15-3 win.  They scored two in the bottom of the first, four in the bottom of the second, and another run in the third for a 7-0 lead.  West Central scored two times in the top of the fourth to make the score 7-2, but Tri-Valley added eight more runs in the bottom of the fourth.  West Central got just one run in the top of the fifth.

Eli K, Chase S, and Cooper B all had one hit each in the game.  Carson E pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed 10 runs, six earned, on five hits and five walks with three strikeouts.  Cooper B pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed five earned runs on four walks with one strikeout.
