The West Central high school baseball team rolled past Tri-Valley in a 12-3 win on Monday, May 5th.
After a 2-2 tie at the end of the first inning, West Central scored six straight runs. They got three in the second, one in the third, one in the fourth, and one more in the top of the fifth for an 8-2 lead. Tri-Vallley got one more run in the bottom of the fifth. West Central added four in the top of the seventh.
Gunnar Alfson had three hits and four RBIs. Hayden Whiting also had three hits. CJ DenBoer had a home run with two RBIs. Keaton Vessells added a double with two RBIs. Hayes Cain and Caden Alfson both had a single and an RBI. Ashton Gebhart ended with a single.
C. Alfson pitched five innings and allowed three runs, one earned, on no hits and five walks with 10 strikeouts. G. Alfson pitched two innings and allowed two hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
