First Quarter Run by Huskies Key to Win over West Central Boys

A big first quarter run by the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies was the difference in the game on Monday, February 19th.  The West Central Trojan boys ended their regular season with a 71-56 road loss to the Huskies.

The Trojans held a 9-8 lead early in the first quarter.  Elk Point-Jefferson then went on an 18-2 run over the rest of the quarter for a 26-11 lead going into the second quarter.  That run proved to be the difference in the game.  The Huskies outscored West Central 7-6 in the second quarter for a 33-17 halftime lead.  Elk Point-Jefferson again outscored the Trojans in the third quarter, but just by a point, to extend their lead to 47-30 going into the final quarter.  West Central held a 26-24 edge in the fourth quarter.

Connor Mebius had 27 points and two rebounds.  Crew Heier finished with 18 points and four rebounds.  Jake Kuhl ended with four points and six rebounds.  Brodie Herr also had four points with three rebounds.  Luke Knight added two points.
