Tea Holds off West Central Girls

The West Central Trojan girls basketball team traveled to Tea for a game against the Titans on Thursday, January 4th.  The Titans were able to hold off a couple of rallies by the Trojans for a 57-47 victory.

Tea built a six-point lead by the end of the first quarter, 14-8.  West Central scored the first four points of the second quarter to cut the lead to 14-12 with 7:00 to go in the half.  The Titans then finished the quarter on an 18-5 advantage for a 32-17 halftime lead.  The Trojans cut into the lead in the third quarter and pulled within eight, 39-31, heading into the fourth quarter.  West Central got within five points, 43-38, with 4:45 to go in the game, but the Titans were able to hold off any further rally for the win.

Abbi Thornton had 12 points and three rebounds.  Molly Anderson had eight points, five assists, and five steals.  Alexa Borns added seven points, two assists, and five steals.  Kacey Jaton, Jazellle Jarding, and Emillee Stofferahn all had six points each.  Jarding also had six rebounds and two steals.
