Trojan Girls End Skid at Sacred Hoops Classic

The West Central Trojan girls basketball team ended a five-game losing stream with a win at the Sacred Hoops Classic in Mitchell on Saturday, January 6th. The Trojans defeated the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers 51-34 after trailing in the first quarter.

Platte-Geddes held a four-point lead at the end of the first quarter, 12-8.  The West Central defense held the Black Panthers to just three points in the second quarter as they took the lead 20-15 going into halftime.  Both offenses had a good third quarter.  The Trojans continued to lead throughout the quarter and led 37-31 going into the final quarter.  The West Central defense had another big fourth quarter holding Platte-Geddes to only three points in the final quarter.

Jazelle Jarding had 12 points, five rebounds, and four steals.  Kacey Jaton also had 12 points with four rebounds and three assists.  Molly Anderson finished with seven points, two rebounds, and two steals.  Ayla Kramer added six points and three steals.  Alexa Borns had five points and seven rebounds.
