Trojan Volleyball Loses in Straight Sets in Canton

The West Central Trojans traveled to Canton to play the C-Hawks on Tuesday, September 26th.  The C-Hawks won the match in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-13, and 25-20.

Canton took an early 8-3 lead in the opening set.  West Central cut the lead to four, 9-5, but C-Hawks went on an 8-3 run for a 17-8 advantage.  They finished the first set with the 25-13 win.

West Central had a 4-3 lead early in the second set, but Canton went on a 5-2 run to take the lead 8-6.  They followed that with another run, this time 6-2, to extend the lead to 14-8.  The Trojans cut the lead to four, 15-11, but the C-Hawks ended the second set on a 10-2 run.

Canton started the third set with a 6-3 lead.  The Trojans pulled within a point, 8-7, but Canton pushed the lead back to 11-8.  They then went on a 5-1 run to increase the lead to 16-9.  The Trojans tried to rally and got with three points, 21-18, but Canton finished the match on a 4-2 advantage.

Kaia Gabbert had five kills.  Marissa Dobbs finished with four kills and three set assists.  Morgyn Ddriscoll had 11 digs and two ace serves.  Jocelyn Nilson had a team-high 25 digs.  Ellie Lienhard added seven set assists.  Ella Harden had a block and an ace serve, and Izzy McKinney had a block.
