Trojan Volleyball Drops Road Match in Parker

The West Central Trojan volleyball team traveled to Parker on Monday, October 2nd to face the Pheasants.  Despite having some leads late, West Central fell in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-21, and 26-24.

The first set started with ties of 3-3 and 5-5.  Parker went on a 5-1 run for a 10-6 lead, but the Trojans fought back to a 13-13 tie.  The Pheasants, however, went on a 7-0 run for a 20-13 score.  That run kept them in front for the 25-18 win.

After an early 2-2 tie to start the second set, West Central went on a 5-0 run for a 7-2 lead.  Parker tied the score 8-8, but the Trojans responded with a 9-3 run to lead 17-11.  West Central continued to lead 19-15, but the Pheasants tied the score 20-20 and then finished with a 5-1 run for a 25-21 win.

West Central started the third set on a 3-0 run and extended that lead to 11-5.  Parker cut the lead to one, 12-11, but the Trojans were able to extend the lead back to six points, 20-14.  The lead was 22-17 before Parker went on a 5-0 run for a 22-22.  The score was tied again 24-24, and then Parker finished the match with the final two points.

Marissa Dobbs finished with five kills, six set assists, and four ace serves.  Addison Meadors added four kills.  Landry Heath had 12 digs and three ace serves.  Jocelyn Nilson finished with a team-high 22 digs.  Ellie Lienhard had seven set assists.  Izzy McKinney and Dobbs each had one block.
