The West Central Trojan volleyball team traveled to Lennox on Thursday, September 21st. The Orioles defeated the Trojans in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-18.
The first set started back and forth and was tied 6-6. Lennox went on a 7-2 run for a 13-8 lead. They extended the lead to 18-10 before winning the first set 25-15. West Central took an early 5-2 lead in the second set and led 8-3. The Trojans continued to hold a lead at scores of 12-7 and 16-14. Lennox tied the score 20-20. After two straight points by the Trojans, Lennox finished the set on a 5-1 run for a 25-23 victory.
West Central started the third set on a 7-2 run. The Orioles responded with a 6-0 run for an 8-7 lead. They continued the run to a 14-8 lead. The lead grew to 20-11 before West Central cut the lead to 22-16. Lennox, however, would finished the match with a 25-18 win.
Marissa Dobbs had eight kills, two ace serves, 11 digs, six set assists, and a block. Maddy Ingalls had five kills. Addison Meadors had four ace serves and a block. Jocelyn Nilson finished with 13 digs, and Ellie Lienhard had 11 set assists.
