West Central Baseball Falls to Baltic in Region 3B

The West Central high school club baseball team (8-5) had their season end in the opening round of the Region 3B tournament in Tea on Tuesday, May 23rd.  West Central lost to Baltic by a score of 5-2.

Deuce Sherard scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the first to give West Central a 1-0 lead.  Baltic took the lead with two runs in the top of the second.  They added another run in the top of the third and one more in the top of the fourth for a 4-1 lead.  Brodie Herr had an RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 4-2.  Baltic, however, added another run in the top of the sixth.

Jesse Jost had two hits.  Sherard finished with a double.  Keaton Vessells also had a hit.  Herr had an RBI.  Owen Heath pitched 3 2/3 innings allowing four earned runs on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts.  Herr pitched 3 1/3 innings allowing an unearned run on five hits with six strikeouts.
