Nine Run Inning Leads to Win for West Central Baseball

The West Central high school club baseball team used a nine-run inning to spark a 12-2 win over Lennox at home on Sunday, April 30th.

The nine run inning came in the bottom of the second.  Andrew Zimmer started the scoring with an RBI single.  Brody Jacobson had an RBI double.  Will Nester followed with a two-run single.  Deuce Sherard added an RBI single, and the big hit was a grand slam home run by Caden Alfson.  Lennox scored two times in the top of the third, but West Central added three more runs in the bottom of the inning.  Jesse Jost scored on a wild pitch, and the other two runs were scored on a ground ball by Keaton Vessells.

Jacobson finished with three singles and an RBI.  Sherard had two hits and an RBI.  Alfson had a home run and four RBIs.  Vessells and Nester both had a single and two RBIs each.  Zimmer finished with a hit and an RBI.  Connor Siemonsma also had a single.  Owen Heath pitched five innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven batters.
