Regular Season Ends with Ninth Straight Win for Trojan Girls

The West Central Trojans (13-7) finished the 2022-2023 regular season with a win at home over the Chamberlain Cubs on Friday, February 17th.  The Trojans won their ninth straight game after the 67-25 victory.

The Trojans needed the first five and a half minutes to get going offensively, but once they did, they dominated.  The two teams were locked at 4-4 with 2:30 to play in the opening quarter.  West Central finished the quarter on an 11-0 run for a 15-4 lead.  They extended the lead to 38-12 by halftime and led 54-16 at the end of the third quarter.

Ten different players scored in the game for the Trojans.  Alexa Borns had a game-high 17 points with six rebounds and two assists.  Tessa VanOverbeke had 10 points, four assists, and two steals.  Molly Anderson finished with nine points, four rebounds, and two steals.  Biz Johnson had seven points and three rebounds.  Molli Thornton and Mara Schultz each had six points.  Jaci Travis ended with five points.  Jazelle Jarding added three points, six rebounds, five steals, and three assists.  Cambell Fischer also had three points, and Aubree Miller had one point and seven rebounds.
