The West Central Trojan girls basketball team took a conference loss at the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers on Monday, January 23rd. The Chargers won 67-55.
The Trojans had a three-point lead, 13-10, after the first eight minutes of play. The Chargers outscored West Central 19-13 in the second quarter for a 29-26 halftime lead. The lead grew by one, 47-43, by the end of the third quarter. The Trojans continued to trail by four, 54-50, with 5:30 to play in the game. Sioux Falls Christian finished the game on a 13-5 run.
Molli Thornton finished with 17 points, three steals, two rebounds, and two assists. Jazelle Jarding added 14 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Alexa Borns ended with 11 points and six rebounds. Tessa VanOverbeke had eight points.
