Strong Defense Key to Trojan Girls Win

The West Central Trojan defense played a key role in their 61-36 win over the Parker Pheasant girls on Tuesday, January 24th.  The Trojans had 23 steals as a team that led to big runs throughout the course of the game.

West Central built a 16-5 lead by the end of the first quarter.  Parker was able to cut into the lead in the second quarter and got within seven, 24-17, by halftime.  The third quarter is when the Trojan defense really locked down the Pheasants.  West Central outscored Parker 24-8 in the quarter for a 48-25 lead heading into the final quarter.

Molli Thornton had 17 points, five rebounds, and three steals.  Jazelle Jarding added 14 points, seven rebounds, and seven steals.  Mara Schultz ended the game with nine points.  Tessa VanOverbeke finished with eight points, two rebounds, and two steals.  Cambell Fischer had five points, six rebounds, and three steals.
