Sioux Falls Jefferson Hand Trojan Girls First Loss of Season

The Sioux Falls Jefferson Cavaliers used two big quarters in the middle of the game to hand the West Central Trojan girls their first loss of the season.  The Cavaliers defeated the Trojans 67-35 in Hartford on Thursday, December 29th.

Sioux Falls Jefferson held just a two point lead, 15-13, at the end of the first quarter, but the Cavaliers outscored West Central 46-15 in the middle two quarters while shooting 7-10 on three-pointers.  West Central trailed 41-23 at halftime and 61-28 at the end of the third quarter.

The Trojans shot 34% (13-38) overall, 17% (2-12) on three-point shots, and 7-10 from the free-throw line.  Sioux Falls Jefferson finished 50% (23-46) from the field, 50% (9-18) from three-point area, and 63% (12-19) from the free-throw line.

Molli Thornton finished with 10 points.  Tessa VanOverbeke had six points and two steals.  Jazelle Jarding and Cambell Fischer both had five points and five rebounds in the game.  Alexa Borns and Aubree Miller both added two points and four rebounds.
