Inaugural Season for Trojan Boys Soccer

The 2022 season will be the first ever season for West Central Trojan boys soccer.  The boys team will have 27 players in their first year of the program giving them enough to have a JV team, which not all schools have.

“It will be fun to watch the competition for varsity spots.  We have a lot of players with similar skill sets, and it will come down to those that are working the hardest,” said head coach Matthew Evans.  “There will probably be quite a few lineup changes in the first three matches as we determine where each player fits in best for the team.”

Even though this is the first year for the Trojans, they still have playoff aspirations.  Evans said that two other “A” schools are in their first year this year, one that in just their second year, and a couple of smaller schools that they hope they can be competitive against.

Braden Peters will be assisting Evans this year, and Dan Wagner is a volunteer assistant coach.

The very first match for Trojans boys soccer will be at home against Vermillion on Friday, August 12th.
