West Central Hits Late Free Throws to Get Win over Mustang Girls

The West Central Trojans made five free throws in the closing moments after Tri-Valley had tied the game to earn a 41-36 victory on Tuesday, February 4th.

The Mustangs had an 8-7 lead at the end of the opening quarter.  West Central would outscore Tri-Valley 11-5 in the second quarter for an 18-13 lead at halftime.  Tri-Valley cut into the lead in the third quarter, but only by two points.  The Trojans led 29-26 going into the fourth quarter. Tri-Valley cut the lead to one point, 32-31, with 4:15 to play.  They would eventually tie the game, 36-36, on a three-point shot by Hailey Sorenson with 1:40 to go, but the Trojans made five free-throws the rest of the game to earn the win.

Mattie Huwe finished with 10 points and four rebounds.  Sorenson finished with six points and six rebounds.  Peyton Vogt added five points and four rebounds.  Emery Jones also had five points.  Izzy Davey had two points, four rebounds, three assists, and five steals.
