Tri-Valley Girls Suffer Third Straight Loss

The Tri-Valley Mustang girls suffered their third straight loss after a 47-36 setback to the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies on Thursday, January 30th.

The Huskies built a lead through the first three quarters and then held off a Tri-Valley rally in the fourth quarter.  Elk Point-Jefferson built a 10-point lead, 15-5, by the end of the first quarter.  They extended their lead to 31-17 by halftime.  The Huskies had another big third quarter, outscoring Tri-Valley 12-4 for a 43-21 lead going into the fourth quarter.  Tri-Valley outscored Elk Point-Jefferson 15-4 in the final quarter, but the deficit was too much.

Tri-Valley shot 24% (10-41) overall, 12% (2-17) on three-point shots, and 47% (14-30) from the free-throw line.  Elk Point-Jefferson finished the game shooting 33% (14-42) overall, 30% (7-23) on three-point attempts, and 63% (12-19) from the free-throw line.

Izzy Davey had 10 points, five rebounds, and four steals.  Abigail Wagner added seven points and four rebounds.  Mattie Huwe also had seven points.  Emry Jones had four points and three rebounds.
