Tri-Valley Mustang Girls Use Strong Defense in Road Win

The Tri-Valley Mustang girls used a strong defensive performance to lead them to a 50-14 road win over the Elkton-Lake Benton Elks on Tuesday, January 7th.

Tri-Valley only led by seven points by the end of the first quarter, 13-6.  Their defensive then locked down the Elks int he second quarter, allowing just three points.  That helped Tri-Valley to build a 32-9 lead by halftime.  The defense continued to play strong in the second half.  The Mustangs held the Elks to just four points in the third quarter and one point in the final quarter.

The offense also had a very balanced scoring attack.  Maddie Wenzel finished with 10 points.  Izzy Davey added nine points.  Emry Jones finished with eight points, and Kadence Davey had seven points.  Ten different Mustangs had at least two points in the game.
