Tri-Valley Girls End Regular Season with Big Win over Lennox

The Tri-Valley Mustang girls ended their regular season with a big home win over the Lennox Orioles, 41-36, on Thursday, February 20th.  Tri-Valley won the game from the free-throw line making 12 of 15 attempts, while Lennox finished just 3-9 from the free-throw line.

Lennox held a 15-10 lead by the end of the first quarter.  The Mustangs held Lennox to just four points in the second quarter, which allowed them to tie the game 19-19 by halftime.  The third quarter was back and forth, and the Orioles held a 33-31 lead going into the fourth quarter.  The shot attempts for Lennox just wouldn’t fall in the fourth quarter, and Tri-Valley outscored the Orioles 10-3 in the final quarter for the win.

The Mustangs shot 36% (13-36) overall in the game and 29% (4-14) from three-point area.  Lennox shot 33% (14-42) overall and 25% (5-20) on three-point shots.  The total rebounds were almost even with Lennox having a slight 25-24 advantage.  Turnovers were also fairly close.  Lennox had 18 turnovers to the Mustangs 16.

Mattie Huwe finished with 14 points and three steals.  Maddie Wenzel added 10 points and five rebounds.  Izzy Davey had seven points, five rebounds, and three steals.  Kadence Davey ended with five points and seven rebounds.  Danika Fluth and Abigail Wagner both had three points each.
