I. Davey Sets School Record, Mustang Girls Scorch Nets

Izzy Davey was on fire against the McCook Central/Montrose Cougars on Monday, February 17th.  Davey set a new school record with eight made three-point shots.  The Mustangs as a team were hot from beyond the arc on the frigid night.  Tri-Valley made 16 three-point shots to help them to a 71-60 win.

McCook Central/Montrose had a lead for most of the first quarter and held a 17-16 advantage at the end of the opening quarter.  The Mustangs caught fire in the second quarter.  Tri-Valley outscored the Cougars 20-7 for a 36-24 lead at halftime.

The hot shooting continued into the second half for the Mustangs.  Tri-Valley pushed their lead to 46-27 with 4:40 to go in the third quarter.  They ended the third quarter with a 57-38 advantage.  The Cougars tried to make a run in the fourth quarter, but the deficit was too much to overcome.

Davey finished with 26 points.  Emery Pearson had 13 points and three rebounds.  Mattie Huwe added 10 points, six assists, four steals, and two rebounds.  Peyton Vogt and Brooklyn Larson both had six points each.  Maddie Wenzel ended with four points, four rebounds, and three steals.
