Tri-Valley Girls Advance in Region 3A with Win over Madison

The Tri-Valley Mustang girls opened Region 3A play at home against the Madison Bulldogs on Tuesday, February 25th.  The Mustangs advanced to the next round with a 49-29 win.

The first three minutes of the game were scoreless between the two teams.  The Mustangs did end the first quarter with a 10-4 lead.  Tri-Valley kept their offense going in the second quarter and outscored Madison 14-6 for a 24-10 halftime lead.  The Mustangs slowly added on to the lead in the third quarter and held a 39-22 advantage going into the final quarter of play.

The defense of the Mustangs was the star player.  Tri-Valley had 25 total steals in the game.

Mattie Huwe finished with 11 points, two rebounds, and five steals.  Hailey Sorenson had nine points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Danika Fluth ended with seven points, two rebounds, and two steals.  Rowyn Gacke had five points, and Maddie Wenzel added four points and seven rebounds.
