Tri-Valley Finishes Three Weeks of Road Matches with Win

The Tri-Valley Mustangs have played five straight road matches over the last three weeks, and they ended that streak with a win at Canistota on Tuesday, September 27th.  The Mustangs defeated the Hawks in four sets by scores of 25-18, 21-25, 25-20, and 25-17.

Tri-Valley broke a 4-4 tie early in the first set with a 4-0 run for an 8-4 lead.  Canistota tied the score at 10-10, and the two teams traded points staying tied 12-12.  Tri-Valley then scored five in a row for a 17-12 lead.  The Mustangs cruised from there to a 25-18 win.

Canistota had the early rally in the second set and took an 8-3 lead.  The Hawks extended the lead to 15-5 and went on to win the set 25-21 after a late rally by the Mustangs.  The two teams battled close in the early parts of set three.  Tri-Valley was able to take a 10-6 lead which was just enough of an advantage.  Even though Canistota was able to tie the score 14-14, Tri-Valley would not trail the rest of the set in a 25-20 win.

The Hawks raced out to a 7-3 lead to start the fourth set.  The Mustangs rallied to tie the score 11-11.  The momentum carried Tri-Valley to a 17-14 lead as they slowly pulled away for a 21-15 advantage.  The Mustangs took the win in the fourth set 25-17 to win the match.

Tri-Valley will be back at home on Thursday, September 29th against the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars.
