Mustangs Fall in First Home Match in Four Weeks

Playing in their first home match since September 1st, the Tri-Valley Mustangs fell in straight sets to the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars on Thursday, September 29th.

Tri-Valley took an early 3-1 lead in the opening set, and then the two teams battled back and forth.  The Mustangs went ahead 12-9 midway through the set, but again the two teams traded leads back and forth until the Cougars took a small 20-18 advantage.  They then ended the first set on a 5-0 run for a 25-18 win.

McCook Central/Montrose held an early 10-6 lead in the second set, but Tri-Valley scored six in a row for a 12-10 lead of their own.  The Cougars got the score tied 15-15 and then again at 17-17 before finishing the set on an 8-3 run.  McCook Central/Montrose took a 2-0 lead with a 25-20 second set win.

The two teams again went back and forth to start the third set with multiple tie scores.  The Cougars had a three-point advantage at 14-11.  They slowly extended that lead to 22-16, and eventually got the win 25-18.
