The Tri-Valley Mustangs dropped a straight set match to the Sioux Valley Cossacks in Volga on Monday, September 14th. Sioux Valley won by scores of 26-16, 25-21, and 25-14. The Cossacks used a run early in each of the three sets to help them to the three wins.
The opening set started with Sioux Valley taking an early 3-2 lead. They then scored four straight to push that lead to 7-2. The lead grew to 13-6 and then to 22-13 before Sioux Valley won 25-16. The second set started with an early 3-1 lead for Sioux Valley. The Cossacks pushed that lead to 7-3. Tri-Valley was able to cut the lead down to one point, 13-12. The Sioux Valley lead stayed at one point at scores of 17-16 and 21-20, but the Cossacks ended the second set on a 4-1 run for a 25-21 win. The third set started similarly as the first two. The Cossacks took a 4-3 lead to start. They grew that lead to 7-4 and then to 13-7. Sioux Valley continued to extend their lead all the way to 21-11 before winning 25-14.
