Tri-Valley Boys Come up Short Against West Central

The Tri-Valley Mustangs (3-8) had a halftime lead against the West Central Trojans, but a second half run gave the Trojans a 55-45 win on Tuesday, January 31st.

The Trojans had a 9-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Mustangs took the lead in the second quarter.  Tri-Valley led 18-16 at halftime.  West Central got on a run in the third quarter and took a 39-33 lead into the fourth quarter.  The Mustangs got within a point, 40-39, early in the fourth, but the Trojans held the Mustangs to just six more points in the quarter to hang on for the win.

Tri-Valley shot 39% from the field overall, 17% from three-point area, and 73% from the free-throw line.  The Trojans shot 33% overall, 22% on three-point shots, and 59% from the free-throw line.

Noah Haynes had 20 points, three rebounds, and two steals.  Trey Johnson finished with 13 poinots, 11 rebounds, and a blocked shot.  Brayden Oyen added four points, three assists, and a blocked shot.
