Mustangs Snap Skid, Win Final Regular Season Game

The Tri-Valley Mustangs snapped a three game skid and won their final regular season game at home on Friday, October 14th.  The Mustangs hosted the Wagner Red Raiders and took a 48-6 win to even their record at 4-4 on the season.

Tri-Valley exploded for 34 points in the first half.  Eli McFarland had the first of his three touchdowns on the opening drive.  He scored on a two-yard run with 8:00 to go in the quarter.  Colby Carruthers added a 24-yard run with :35 left in the quarter to give the Mustangs a 14-0 lead.

McFarland also threw a touchdown with 9:51 to play in the second quarter.  He connected with Lawson Loiseau on a 24-yard play.  Landyn Reiser found the end zone with 7:14 in the second quarter on a 25-yard run.  McFarland had his second rushing touchdown on a 35-yard run before halftime.  Tri-Valley led 34-0 at halftime.

McFarland’s third touchdown was on a five-yard run in the third quarter.  Brody Dybvig scored on a five-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for a 48-0 lead.  Wagner got their lone touchdown late in the game.

Tri-Valley ends the regular season with a 4-4 record.  They will travel to Mt Vernon/Plankinton to play the Titans in the opening round of the 11B playoffs on Thursday, October 20th.
