Mustang Volleyball Wants to “Raise the Bar” in 2023

“We are excited to see what progress can be made this season after seeing the improvement from last year,” said head coach Justin Nihart.

The Mustang volleyball team finished 5-20 a year ago, a four-win increase from 2021.  This year’s team features 10 seniors and four key returning players.  Seniors Brianna Bunde, McKenze Atwood, Summer Van Der Vliet, Alexis Wienacht, Ivy Haug, Julie Mauszycki, Lauren Grinde, Hillary Hastings, and Nevaeh Grann will be joined by juinors Madelyn Wenzel, Emery Pearson, and Abby Wagner as players to watch this year.

“We are hoping to get off to a good start at the beginning of the season to build confidence before we head into our conference play.  We know that every night will present a great challenge and opponent when looking at both our Region 3A and Dak XII Conference.  Our season’s motto is ‘Raise the Bar’, in which we have goals of continuing to climb the standings in both our region and conference,” added Nihart.

Tri-Valley will travel to Garretson on Tuesday, August 22nd and then host Parker on Thursday, August 24th to start the 2023 season.
