Mustang Volleyball Drops Road Match in Madison

The Tri-Valley Mustangs took to the road on Thursday, September 21st and played the Madison Bulldogs.  Madison won the match in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-15, and 25-19.

The Bulldogs took an early 5-2 lead and slowly grew it from there.  Madison extended their lead to 11, 23-12.  Tri-Valley scored three in a row to cut the lead to 23-15, but Madison scored the final two points.  The Bulldogs then started the second set on a 6-2 run.  The Mustangs tied the score 10-10, and the two teams traded points to 14-14.  Madison then went on a 7-0 run for a 21-14 lead and finished the set with a 25-25 win.  The Bulldogs built a 10-2 lead to start the third set.  Tri-Valley got lead down to three points, 13-10, but Madison responded with a 10-4 run for a 23-14 lead.  The Mustangs rallied to within five points, 24-19, but Madison ended the run for the win.

Maddie Wenzel finished with five kills, and Tori O’Toole added three kills.  Emery Pearson had 11 ace serves.  Wenzel also had eight aces.  Abby Wagner finished with 11 digs and 11 set assists.  Kenzie Atwood had a team-high 13 digs.  Wenzel, Pearson, and Hillary Hastings all had one block each.
